With all the negative news out there about collapsing financial markets, housing markets and more, it’s important to look at the big picture in investment and keep in mind that there are still many investors out there who will be looking to balance their portfolios with a higher percentage of real estate investments.

Different investors will have different requirements, but real estate will continue to play an important role in the asset allocation equation. Considering long term objectives and weighing out 1031 tax-deferred exchanges versus paying capital gains taxes is one of the key roles for commercial real estate advisors. The more we understand about various financial advisers’ asset allocation strategies, the better able we can serve their long term portfolio goals for real estate.
